About Mobile TV
DStv Mobile – the new “watch wherever you are” broadcast television service that can be accessed by a number of DVB-H enabled cellphones and Wi-Fi enabled devices – is set to change the way viewers catch their favourite DStv shows.
For those without a DVB-H enabled phone, DStv Mobile can be accessed using the Drifta mobile decoder that is compatible with cellphones, laptops, smartphones and tablets. Subscribers can stay current with sports, news and entertainment, wherever they go.
Channels include:
- Africa Magic
- Channel O
- Trace Urban
- The eNews Channel
- SuperSport Blitz
- SuperSport 1
- SuperSport 2
- SuperSport 3
- Cartoon Network
DVB-H enabled phones are available from Mobile Network Operators MTN, Vodacom, Cell C and Service Provider Autopage. There will be no charge for accessing the service during the introductory phase which ends on 31 March 2011.
The Drifta retails at R599 and is available at MultiChoice branches, agencies and select retail outlets. Initially the device is compatible with the:
- iPhone - iOS 4.0 and higher iOS
- iPod Touch - iOS 4.0 and higher iOS
- iPad - iOS 3.2 and higher iOS
- PCs including laptops and notebooks.
